Default Help please!!!

I have a 2000 model dodge dakota 3.9 v-6...local salvage yard sold me a "1999 model" that which by the way was a 1989 model will not work...he will swap the 89 model engine for a 1993 model will this one swap into my 2000 model v-6 3.9 truck?

no, you need an engine from the same generation, 97-04.

wow im sorry but what the hell are you trying to say? did your engine take a sh*t or did you buy a salvage vehicle that is not the same year that you thought it was? im so confused

along with the same generation, i believe it has to be either the same year the vehicle was produced or newer for it to pass inspection, depending on your local laws.

Thanks guys.....i bought a 2000 model 3.9 v-6, salvage yard guy told me i was buying a 1999 short block engine, turns out it was a 1989 model engine, now he said he will trade it for a 1993...so I need a 1997 -2003 model short block right? Sorry but im not a mechanically inclined person, thanks for the help
