Default What rear gears

hey quick question, what rear gear ratio do i have in my truck? It is a 4.7 5 Speed 4x4 QC. I think that I have 3.55 but i am really not sure. Thanks yall

3.55, 3.92, 4.10, or 4.55. look at your build sheet in your glove box. probabally either 3.55 or 3.92

thanks yeah i bought the truck used so i don't think i have the build sheet. i will check tho. anybody else?

there is a sticker in the glove box (at least in all the ones that i have seen) that has it listed just check for it

Do you have the factory tow package? If so you probably have the 3.92's. Like everyone else said though check the sticker in the glove box. I think it will also tell you if you have the heavy duty version of the NV3500 at least I think that's where I found out that I have it. I think they only came stock with 3.55 or 3.92

i have 3.55s which i guess are good but when i was towing yesterday it was pretty rought. about a thousand pounds in the bed and another 2000-2500 on my trailer... they are good on the highway tho, like at 85mph im only turning about 2500rpms.

3.92 is better for towing. But a good gearing if you tow a lot if 4.10 thats what they usally use in the bigger 1 tons.

yeah i don't tow a lot but when i do it would be nice to have those lower gears but its cool, at least 3.55s give me better highway mileage

Yea it is nice, but you can always put it in 4th gear and be done with it.
