Hey guys, just looking at some exhausts on ebay and came across this.

looks legit to me. but to save a ton of money why not just hack exhaust and do a muffler with turndown before the rear axle. a lot of guys do that.

thats what I was gonna do until i decided to just go with a muffler and tips and then get it custom installed so I'd say go for it if you wanna try and do it yourself

RTdakota, how would I do that? Does a shop have to do that or can it be done by me?

Thanks for the tips guys!

One more question, would a muffler sound nice or a whole cat back system. Im not really looking for power, I just have a v6, but I would like it to sound tough at idle and while open. Would a muffler accomplish that or do I need to install a cat back system?

Thanks

Jim

a muffler will do it especially with a turn down like rt said. i'd suggest getting a muffler and just telling them you want it dumped before the rear axle so that you know its done right but its also doable yourself.

That Hooker Aero Chamber sounds pretty sick though man! Playmaker, you got the whole exhaust or just muffler with dual pipes coming out? I kinda fell in love with that muffler. I like where my stock exhaust pipe is now, or maybe two pipes to the back would be cool.

Will meineke install this stuff for me? Or do I have to go to some independent shop?

Thanks again, I think I'm gonna go with the Hooker Aero Chamber, you guys know what size I need to get?

Well, actually I just read some reviews, and they say the hooker aero chamber sounds basically stock at idle... and its kind of annoying at cruising speeds.

I want the exact opposite, I want it to sound nice and throaty at idle, and under control at cruising speeds....

What would be the best muffler you guys think? Maybe some of that crackling when I let off the throttle too! That would be friggin awesome!

Thanks

Jim

with my v6 paired with the magnaflow, no complaints given its a v6 and to overcome the ricey sound is a pita, quiet at idle but once you get on it, you know she's there. deep drone, and throaty if you jsut rev it in your driveway, wasting precious gas, that i rather use during full throttle to hear the engine truely sing in harmony with the road.haha

Hey Fox, so the magna flow doesnt sound ricey when the throttle is opened up? I REALLY want to avoid that.

But I'd like to get a rumble at idle, I know its a v6 and it has its limitations, but a nice throaty idle would be cool. Or at least some rumble when I turn the ignition.

Thanks

Jim
