Default Too much oil?

Hey guys, I changed my oil today and my Haynes said 6 qts. I have a 2004 3.7. Someone stole my manual so I didnt have that to look at but I figured Haynes was right.

Well I was wrong, and so was Haynes! After my oil change i ran the engine for about 2 minutes then checked the fluid and I was WAAAY over. I went to dodge.com and d/l my manual and what do ya know, the 3.7 takes 5 qts.

Long story short, I went under the truck and drained out some oil. I ended up getting about 30 oz. out, 2 oz's short of a full quart.

Sucks I'm out a quart of Mobil 1.

My question is, does that small 2 oz. matter? Should I go back down there and take 2 oz's out, or can I leave it as is?

I think its fine, but I just wanted to check.

Thanks

Jim

2 ounces wont make or break you, will burn off eventually. wont cause you to lose oil pressure either.

2 oz's over won't hurt anything. It's nothing to worry about.
