Default P0455 code

Hey my check engine light came on and I checked my code by turning ignition on and off trick. The code flashed P0455. This is a big leak in the EVAP control system. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it? thx

You have either a leaky gas gas, or a vacuum line i off or cracked. I had the same problem, for me it turned out to be a vacuum line coming off of the Evap emissions service port.

I had a cracked hose inder the hood that caused this code to come up I have had that code a few times when the old lady has put gas in my truck. Guess she wasn't tightening the cap or something. I bought a new cap and haven't had the problem since.

I have a 2003 Dak. w/4.7L. I had this problem also and it wound up being a hose end that came off of the vapor canister that is mounted about middle ways of the cab on the drivers side of the truck. You can buy the hose ends at the dealer for about $13.00 if you are lucky enough to not have to buy the whole harness. Good luck with it. I hope this helps.

Default Evap leak fixed

I solved two CEL codes: P0455 & P0456. "Large & Small Evap system leaks.
The 1/4 & 5/16 hoses on the drivers side under the hood between the
battery and engine were split at their fittings.
look for a schrader valve with a green cap. the 5/16" hoses connected to this
were split.
The 1/4" hose off the left side of the intake manifold also cracked.
This took about an hour and $10 worth of fuel hose. The worst part is
the old tape holding the hoses. Have the hand cleaner ready.
Hope this helps, GH
