from reading peoples experiences with the jet chip, on here and other forums, the pcm eventually erases the chip and learns the stock parameters. im not to sure about the venom. if i had a 97' v6 dakota, i would actually call some places that do custom pcm tuning and ask them for advice.

any "chip" wont do anything, a programmer has the ability to help though. however, since yours is a 97, a superchips wont work so i would just say forget it. I have also seen someone's PCM get fried from using a jet chip....they're junk.
