Default V8 to V6 throttlebody

Hey guys i'm new to the forum and I was looking into doing this mod... just trying to get my facts straight. So the 5.2/5.9 V8 throttle body is a direct bolt on to the 3.9 V6 only difference is the throttle linkage? as fas as the sensors go I can pretty much transfer the V6s to V8s correct? another question is there any noticeable difference between the two throttlebodies to distinguish them? Because I purchased my truck used and i'm not sure what has been modified on it other than the exhaust and removal of stock intake shroud only to be replaced by an edlebrock intake cover

Both TB's are about the same size. On the OE ones they will have V8 or V6 stamped in front of the bore. The bores are larger on the V8 TB. The linkage and sensors are the same for V6 and V8 TB's. You would use the sensors off the existing V6 TB because you know they work. You need to get the throttle cable from the dealer for the V8 TB for the same year or get the cable from the donor vehicle if you are using a TB from the junk yard. You have to do that to get the cable to match the linkage on the V8 TB.

ohh another question is there a way to modify the v6 throttle cable to accomodate the v8 linkage? or is there really no way around replacing the cable with the V8 cable...

theres a rubber stop on the TB, so the butterfly valve doesnt perfectly open straight up.
