Default Looking at a 1999 R/T

I am looking at buying a 1999 Dakota R/T. The ad doesn`t give much info other than that it was flooded in hurricane Ike. But the paint looks good and he is only asking $600 for it. I am buying this to make money. Either to do a little work and sell it, or part it out. Is it worth it? I am not as familiar with Dakotas as other models.

you could call him and see exactly "how" flood damaged it is, but i would assume that its parts are worth at least that much

yeah chances are the interiors shot do you know if it runs or not? i agree with bryant in that you should at least be able to get 600 back from parting it out

yeah hell if the wheels are in good condition you could probably make up the initial investment just by selling those, everything else is just icing on the cake

All of this is riding on if I can sell the Hyundai I just finished. I was just doing a little research before I jumped into anything. When he says "flooded", I don`t know how bad he means. If it was from some areas, it could have been under 9` of water. Or it could have just sat in some water up to the bottom of the truck. That`s not uncommon around here. I am mainly hoping the drivetrain is in good shape. 5.9Ls sell for quite a bit .
