At 2000 rpm in 1st and 2nd, the transmission starts to whine. I just changed fluid to AMSOIL SAE 5W-30, it didn't seem to help. I just got the truck and I'm almost positive the previous owner drag raced it.

 

Being 1st and 2nd gear making the noises, its probably a damaged synchro. Not a major deal as long as it still goes in gear and the noise doesn't drive you nuts.
