Default Changing CPS

Hello from the 2nd gen Ram forum. My buddy has a 99 Dakota Sport 318 5 spd 4x4, and the CPS is dying. He wants me to replace it.

On my Ram, it's accessible from the top -- barely. It can be reached but there's no way to see what the hell you're doing when you're doing it. I'm assuming that since a Dakota is smaller, it might not be so easy.

Can anyone help me out with how to get to/change it?

THanks!

Are you talking crank or cam? and which engine? I'm guessing 5.2/5.9. If thats what you got its just a matter of cussing and holding your mouth juuuuuust right

im assuming crank position sensor, and well it's a bitch to get at took me an hour to do mine, and it's only two bolts. It's a hex or a 12 mm or 14 somewhere in there. Both are helpful.
