i have a quad cab short bed and i have a truxedo, and i wouldn't get rid of it for anything. its pretty rigid and when you don't need it, it rolls up in about 10 seconds

Not sure if it's the style you're talking about when you say roll away but we've been using RollNlock covers on the company trucks (Electrical Contractor) for 7 or 8 years now and they're quite rugged. Biggest disadvantage is you lose some space at the front of the bed for the box it rolls up into but it's hard to beat the security, someone won't just be cutting through the metal cover with a pocketknife like they can soft tonneaus. http://www.rollnlock.com/

i have a rollnlock cover its great. only thing is u have to keep the snow off it in the winter... in your in snowy area or els it may freeze shut lol. otherwise its the best cover ive had. i had the snap on ones and i hate em. takes a long time to open and close and snaps break....agh!. the rollnlock is a def way to go.

Anything, I mean ANYTHING, is better than the damm snap/on type
bed-covers.
I have them on my Ram and, Dakota. Horrible,..
Take it off in the winter and, it's NOT going back on without a fight!
In the summer, fine. It goes on fairly easy. In the winter,.. Forget it!'
One hint though, if you have the need to take it off in the winter.
Torpedo - heater. Put it in the bed, run it for five mins with the cover
un-rolled, and the cover will go back on with minor trouble.
(Side-Note); They both came with the trucks when I bought them.
But, I would NEVER buy this design, EVER!!

maybe you had bad luck w/ the snap on covers, but my dad has had them on both of his dakotas, and we have NEVER had any trouble getting them back on, no matter what time of year it is, and yes, we get winter, it was below 20 last night, so maybe it depends on which brand you get, or what material it is

shrp must be super human to stretch the leather in the cold. hell even when i put my tonneau back on (extang r/t, velcro not snap on). even that gives me a hard time.

looks like an awsome cover. How much do they go for and where can you buy one?
