fuel and spark. listen for the fuel pump coming on. pull the plugs and check their condition, same for cap and rotor. you could always take the spark plug out, put it back into the wire and hold the spark plug against the engine block to watch for the electrical arc in the plug. im not responsible if you do this and zap yourself though. ive done it and have zapped myself before.

I have been shocked a few times by them but I did not know if there were issues with these trucks. I have a fuel pressure tester and I plan to go look at it tomorrow but I wanted to see it there were any common problems like coils going out or fuel pumps going out with out notice or those type items. It is my father-in-laws truck and before i drive over there tomorrow I wanted to just check.

check spark to the cap, if it works, than it's not that, and it should be constant, it could be numerous things. Iv heard of many things going wrong. If there is no spark, than check before, if no gas check relay.
