Default 2004 dakota w/93000 miles

I have 93,000 miles on my 2004 dakota and I still go with the regular oil but a 10w 30 instead of a 5w 30 which is recommended, but because I have the high mileage I went with that and i change it regularly, so I have not had any problems at all with my 4.7 V8 the old V6 is known to go bad at around 200,000 miles but all you really need to do is rebuild it and you are good to go for another 200,000 miles.

I have 144,000 on my 4.7 and I switched to a high mileage syn blend, seems to work real good. I have full Mopar syn in the tranny and new fluids in the diff's & transfer case. I kinda go overboard and change all my fluids about once year no matter what, but it is so much cheaper than having problems. These trucks can get up in the 300's if you take good care of them.

yeah i just got my oil changed and although when i am at home i try to get it changed every 3k (even w/ the syn) i was up at school so i wasn't able to get it changed until the 6k mark. basically synthetic gives me that little bit of confidence that if i NEED to i can go that far where every mile over on reg oil i freak out...
