I have a real Dakota issue. My right rear door will not open, lock, or unlock. I can't get to anything to try to open it. For a couple of weeks when the autolocks engaged I could hear a clank coming from that door, then it stopped. I don't want to take it to the dealer unless I absolutely have to. They are money mongers. Does anyone have a suggestion?[:@]
I also have an appointment for the ball joint replacement under recall.

 

SOunds like the relay inside the door has gone bad. Trust me on this, when you take it in for the ball joints have the dealer check it out. If that is the problem, pay to have the dealer fix it. I had to replace the relay assembly for my front door. New language is an understand of the hassel. It's worth it to pay the dealer for some things.
