Exclamation motor or tranny? i dont know.

well i will start by saying that im new here, and need some help with my truck. a while back my truck started acting up. after driving it a little about 5 miles it starts acting weird what is does is as follows: if trying to gain speed it acts like it kicks down a gear but instead of speeding up it slows down. the engine will only rev to 2500 and the it sounds like it is bogging down. you cant keep up to speed on the highway. it really lacks alot of power and sounds like a tranny prob. exept for the fact that when it is in park or neut. i can rev it to 2500 then it starts to bog down and the more you press the gas the mor it struggles and starts to vibrate a little. i just replaced the tps thinking that might help but im stumped. any help would be great. thanx.

replace cap and rotor. Sounds like something weird happens, or your fuel pump isn't keeping up. Wait for other to chime in.

Go to someone with a DBR scanner and get them to look for internal codes (sometimes the check engine light won't go on but they are stored. )

i just went and played with it to try and get more sympthoms. if i rev it real slow i can go as high as i want but as soon as i gas it real fast it bogs and starts to shake a little. i just replaced the fuel pump about 7 months ago.

check for CEL codes. it could be a problem with your coil packs or something.

I was going to say cat. Im not sure if it exactly fits all your symptoms, but usually when you have a bogging issue on the highway and uphills it could def. be a cat.
