This mornin on my way up to school I had to pull over off the high way, and when I went to get back on I gave her some shoe and hit a patch of ice and the tires were spinnin then she bit once I hit the tar and side stepped a little bit, and as I sped up I noticed the truck was turnin 3 grand and wasnt shiftin into overdrive. All the other gears work fine and shift nice and smooth. Checked the tranny fluid and that was fine, any ideas what might have happened?
The obvious thing of course is that you didn't accidently hit the overdrive button the column shifter. And like varsis said, the truck won't shift into OD if it is too cold.
Yea I ended up lettin the truck sit for a while yesterday and ran it late last night and it shifted into over drive nice and smooth. It might have been from the tranny bein to cold but I had been runnin the truck on the highway for almost two hours before that happened but who knows.
