actually, that's a common use i hear in offroading, for spot lights.

What are good bright replacement fog lamps? Or do the stock lenses ruin any potential quality/brightness there could be?

(i drive with low beam + fog on at all times except when high's are needed.. "for safety".)

Well in offroading I can see why. Sooo much light output. Stock is pretty much.....well... stock. Not the best, and not the worst. Try your local automotive store. Sometimes you can get a projector fog light. There about 40$ around here for the pair and they come with the bulbs. But they could easily be switched out for a pair of sylvanias. After I went into projectors, im never going back to a regular halogen housing. Even with a regular halogen bulb you get more light output in those housings.

like, i dont mind the idea of going to silver star ulta halogens for the stock lenses, but the fogs (i know they aren't supposed to do much) are like almost tan..not sure if it's grime on the lenses or what.

Well usually with age they the lenses tend to fade and crack. Mine did that. Had to toss them. After you get new ones you wouldn't believe how much of a difference it makes.

Yeah the left one looks alot more clear, and as for the right one..... its looks a little faded. Try looking around where you live to see if you could get another set of fog lights. Or try ebay, there's a set on there for 35$.
