our autocross/FSAE director here at college has a dash mount for his iphone. Plugs in car charger, queues up the G meter app, and starts running.

Not sure which one he's running but the pro version of Rev can also pull data from the OBDII port, it's kind of pricey though.

They made their own accessory that plugs into the OBDII port and then allows the iphone app to access it via WiFi: http://devtoaster.com/products/rev/index.html

spending close to $300 for the program and the OBD-II port adapter. sweet and all, but no thanks.

iphone is pretty much mac os x. If you can program on mac, you can program for the iphone that is how versatile it is.

i heard that it is ok... like a magazine put it up against the real thing and it was said to be off by about 50 hp or so (which is quite a lot actuallly)....
i also know a guy that got it and says that he can make 687 hp by flicking his wrist...
