Default Replacing Inside Door Handle

I recently had my driver side door panel off when I noticed the door handle was held together by duct tape. As I unwrapped the silver magic I found that the handle was damged pretty badly.

The Haynes manual says that the inside door handle can not be replaced, but I have found websites that sell them.

Has anyone replaced this or had experience with it?
