Default Superchip Flashpaq vs. Cortex

Finally it looks like Superchip is supporting the 2004 Dakota's. Now the question is which product the Flashpaq or Cortex? I really want to be able to set shift points. Their web site says this is available via the Cortex and that it is "Coming Soon" for the Flashpaq? Sounds odd that it’s available for one but that the other. The other thing I really want is better torq management (torq converter lock up etc..). Anybody have any suggestions???

a little off topic but, does anyone know why the shift points ARE NOT adjustable on the 3815 for our trucks? seems like a lot of money (and yea i know those new 3815's are supposed to be magical) to blow on something without even the ability to change shift points.

and to answer your question, the 'coming soon' thing refers to the fact that the 3815 is internet up-datable. and there will be new tunes that come out for it that you can download and subsequently program into your truck.

it will never adjust shift points. at most it can allow your tranny to rev higher. but your tv cable does this. with the 45re ya you can because it's a electronic tranny.

varsis is right, you can only adjust shift points by adjusting the mechanical linkage in the 42/44/46 RE/RH transmissions. I dont even know why they put the "comming soon" part in there, because it cant be done. The most you can do is adjust your rev limiter and play with the TV cable to get it to shift where you want to.

Is that still true for 2004 models(545rfe)? I think the transmission are a little bit different. Mechanically they are the same but isn't the 545 programmable via the TCM/PCM?

2004 4.7s have the 45rfe. totally different from the 42/44/46re automatics. same concept though.
