Default super chip

I own a 2000 dodge dakota 4x4 4.7 v8. I love this truck and it runs great but I'm just curious about adding a super chip. They almost seem too good to be true. More horse power and better fuel economy? Will your truck loose engine/trans reliably because of adding a super chip? I already have 123k on this truck and I want to keep it going. I also tow my 6500 boat so changing the shift points might be a plus. Anyone have any suggestions?

my suggestion is to search buddy, this is another well covered topic. and yes it helps. unless you use all the power (flooring it and hauling as*).

agreed and mine woke my 5 speed with the same engine up so it would be even more impressive on an auto

Just to help people frustrations go down or whatever the case is. The search option has become total useless for old threads. The search engine on this site uses the tag system that is user added, so much of the older stuff will not show up in results.
