Yes it does. It is on the same circuit for the memory and constant 12 volts for the radio. If the IOD fuse is blown the radio won't work. I think it controls the dome lights too.

What happened when the radio quit working? Did you do some other work to the truck and then had no radio? Check the fuses in the PDC and the interior fuse panel. There may be one labeled clock or dome light or cig lighter that could be blown. Also check the radio fuse too, it's for the switched accessoory 12 volts to the radio. Pull the radio out and check the solid red and the red/white (could also be pink) wires on the gray plug in back of the radio. Red is switched accessory 12 volts and red/white is constant 12 volts. Check with a volt meter or test light to find out where the problem is. If you have power at both wires, the radio has an internal problem. You can get a good car audio shop to repair it for you, or you could get better sound and maybe for less money too with a good aftermarket radio.

i changed out the IOD one and i have power back to my interior lights and everything else. The fuse in the cd player ( its an aftermarket) is still good. I tested the wires and i am getting power to the head unit. I blew the IOD fuse when i was testing a connection in the door panel and i didnt ground out well and blew the IOD fuse. Is it possible i blew the whole head unit?

Sorry to say it but yeah if you have power on both the accessory and constant wires at the radio and the radio is grounded and its fuses are OK, whatever you did in the door panel probably smoked the radio somehow. Make sure you have a good ground on the radio. You could try unplugging it for a minute then plug it back in or see if it has a reset button and press it and see if it works then. If it still won't work, any good car audio shop can bench test and repair it for you, or it might be cheaper just to get a new unit.

When you say the radio doesn't work, is it not turning on or is it on and just the sound is muted? If so, the speaker terminals and/or speaker wires on the speaker in the door you were working on could be touching metal and grounding out which will cause the radio to still light up but make no sound. Check that too.
