Dakota,what issues should i know about?I hear certain trannys are bad,ball joints,are they going bad on the 4x4's only?What mileage does the 4x2 quad cab 4.7 get?
Anything else?

I drove a '01 quad cab,and loved it,but started hearing all this stuff.Any help would be appreciated.


The chevys have the piston slap issue,the fords have the weak rods,and spark plug issue(the ones i can afford anyway)I am thinking about a horse and buggy!

The ball joints are covered on a recall and should not be a problem after that. The tranny issue is variable , not everyone has the problem.
