So, i went out and spent some quality time with my truck this afternoon after class.

What I have coming:

Bumper + brackets
V8 throttle Body + cable
TB spacer (maybe)

need: Grille, the 3 support rods (all 3 are bent) that go to it, and a hood.

And I looks at the airbox and such. What i figured out, is that I can run 2 2" OD rubber hoses from the airbox down to the front grille in front of the condensor. That should pretty well match the throttle body butterflys. Rubber Band and duct-tape some pieces of window screen over the open ends, then run one of the tubes into a second hole in the airbox and the other through the existing inlet. For racing, just pop out the air cleaner and there's extra (cooler) air with no restriction. I'll have the ends of the tube fastened in a place where water can't really get to them. And they run dead vertical, so the water won't be able to really collect anywhere.

I'll be doing all this probably in one step over spring break.

$400+ for cowl/scoop (prefer scoop like the tundra's have..screams fast) vs ~150-200 for junkyard + paint...hmmm

FYI i'll probly get it all painted to match the truck at same time. The parts im getting are amethyst blue right now.

If I was gonna do that...

Hell, I'm handy with sheet metal, and we have a bender in the race shop. I could fab/weld one up with $10 of sheet metal from home depot and it's probably look better some some of those POS's that sellf or $100 and don't even work.

12" square, edge of flange to edge of flange. With a 6" hole centered 2" behind the center of the scoop.

rear is angled to a match, front is 1.5" rise.

http://www.jegs.com/p/Wade/752524/10002/-1

$70

ok, so i couldn't make it look that stylish, and it's 2 foot square. I'm sure I could mimic the performance and general lines easy enough.
