Disconnect the battery for a good 20 minutes and let the computer caps bleed down. The computer will have to relearn your driving conditions so make sure you do not have premium fuel in the truck for the first tank of gas.
If you have high mileage you may have some compression issues, built up carbon will raise the compression and the engine knock sensor will reduce the timing to compensate. Or you could have low compression due to wear and again, computer compensation.
no way to tell until you replace the wearable parts first.
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, clean MAF, air filter, and spray out the throttle body.
I am a backyard mechanic but I did take so 2 years of auto in HS and I was one of the best in class, but my knowledge stops if I can't see what you are talking about. So whats a MAF sensor?, I don't see that name in the Chilton's manual. I don't think there is any kind of energy loss thru the wires because this truck sits for a week up to 10 days at a time and starts with no problems even when its 0deg out for a week.

Thank you for all of the suggestions an help.

I will clean up the throttle body and see if it works, the only reason I have not done that before is after a close inspection I did not see any reason but maybe there is something there. What is seafoam i have never heard of that.

Wow that would suck if I put the wrong kind of plugs in, I am not 100% sure but If i remember right I put in Bosch Platinum plugs.

But the problem existed before the plugs and has continued after the new plugs, the only noticeable change is when I went to premium fuel.

I agree completely and I hate paying the extra price for premium but it eliminates well almost eliminates the problem I am having with this truck, and that is worth the extra price. BTW if you are having the same problem I am, you have to use premium every tank full and it takes several fills before there is a huge difference.

Seafoam goes through your fuel system and can really help clean up any gunk or carbon build up.

The MAF sensor is your Mass Air Flow sensor. Im bad at explaining things so wait for someone else to explain how it works.

It takes more than continuous Pemium fuel to keep your truck running well. coincidence?,,,,,,, probably, unless you maintain it regularly.

I would think you do regular maintenance on your truck besides pump it full of premium fuel.
