Default 2000 quad cab with 5.9

Hey guys newbie here.. I did some searching but came up with nothing.. What i need to know is what model auto tranmission does this truck have? what is the out put spline and is it the same as 4x4?
Reason why i ask i would like to convert to a 4x4. I know some will say it's easier to start with a 4x4, but it's not for it's going to get 2 transfer case's, 3 link dana 60 up front with coil overs, and 4 link in the rear with a dana 60..
The reason i want to use this truck is for the engine v8 power in a small truck. plus i'm in california with this great strick smog laws.
Thanks for your help. Robert

the 5.9 came with a 46re, a 29-spline output.

And i no nothing of 4x4s never been into them, maybe one day ill actually buy a 4x4 ram or dak and work on it..

till then all i know is the 5.9 was paired up with the 46re its a piece of crap tranny, i just had mine rebuilt with a 2800stall, stage 2 shift kit, and master rebuilt with kelvar parts.. 3k but its a beast now.

I would go manual..

manual FTW!... but you would only be able to get the 4.7 or the 5.2

no but you should check out Varsis's thread about putting in dana 60's i am sure it would help you on your quest...

cheers and welcome to the forum

you can stick a 5.9... its been done.. the 5.2 and 5.9 use almost the same mounting. Very little fab work needs to be done.

I think its the nv3500 or somthing that most people swap it out with, or they just stick a t56 in it and call it a day.. but thats more work then a simple nv3500

user i think it would be great if you build a 4x4 that makes varsis look small.

also doesn't the 4.7 and hemi and such use some of the same parts. i'm thinking that because of some of the hemi swaps i've heard about
