Default new parts! this is gonna be fun when it done!

ok, so here is the super secret mod i alluded to in the other thread. i just didnt want to spoil the surprise and post until i had pics...

4.56 GEARS FROM YUKON! W00T W00T! between the long tubes and this new gear, this little truck is going to put my *** in the seat pretty nicely. plus it will be a nice compliment to the n2o, if i ever get around to that....

EDIT: just in case you were wondering i go them for $115 used with 10K miles on it. not too shabby. BUT, i know that with new gears you are supposed to baby the hell out of them for like the first 500 miles, do i still have to do that because these things have 10k on them already????

haha! yeah, as if that already wasn't a problem! thats ok that just means i will need slicks! only problem is hat the local track requires a drive shaft leash if you run slicks so i have to find out where the hell to get one of those.

never heard of a d-shaft leash.
i've heard of loops, steel rings that keep it in place if it shears,

is yours steel or aluminum?

ok, why buy them? make one, it would be like 10$ in steel, case of beer to your local minitrucker to weld them in for ya.

and yes, that shaft will shear if you push it too hard,
the steel ones would twist

id recommend dragging and extra shaft with you to the track

first of all, i can weld, pretty well too, if i do say so myself...

secondly, if that drive shaft shears, a thousand people at the track are going to see a man get out of his truck, and single handedly beat it to pieces right there 1/2 way down the track. i will just go fu*king nuclear.

that i really dont know what to do about. i'm thinking a superchips might do it for me. i know that they recalibrate for different tire size so maybe i can get a bastardized adjustment for the gear by telling the programmer that i have a really tiny tire and it will match up. for now tho, my garmin GPS tells me what speed im at and its wicked accurate so im just going to go by that.
