Default Help plz help

I went 2 pass a car today i floored the dakota it kicked down to passing gear. but would not shift out untill i let up off the gas a lil

so after this i got on a back road and was trying it out
would floor the truck from a rollen start and it did not want 2 shift out of 1st gear either when floored. i would have to let out of the gas pedal some

and 2nd thing how many rpm's this engine turn and when's it supposed 2 shift out at. engine seems to have a bad loss of power at 4000+ rpm's and did not sound right 2 me. rev limiter?

after looking over the engine. I seen were i did not get driver's side
motor mount bolt all the way tight and engine has raised up and sitting on washer so engine is like and inch or 2 to high right now. i will fix that in the morning.

o and its a 2000 4.7

i think thats normal, not shifting at WOT, keeps things from breaking, thats pretty rough on the syncros
a shift kit will help out,

and at 4k your peaked out of the power range for the motor, after that you are actually making less HP and torque

Yup, what batty said. Every AT vehicle I have driven is like that. With the exception of one or two crappy vehicles lol, then they were just sporadic.
