02 Dakota 360 supercharger
I think 00dakr/t is running a powerdyne at 6lbs with bigger injectors and his is a daily driver.
Ok so help me with this, what are the stock injector sizes? And what is the difference between those and rtdakota01's #24 pound injectors, hopefully I can use those and help us both out.
I have looked at the cobalt and scion superchargers, and it is little different for those, will look at some gm products elsewhere and try and figure it out. It does have a 9 pound pully, whether it makes that or not is a good question. Will let you know if I figure it out what it is from.
Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it
Boost should not be measured by PSI. 7 PSI from one supercharger will flow XXX CFM and 7 PSI from another supercharger will flow YYY CFM. You can't expect to throw a supercharger on your truck and have it work well if you have no idea how much air it is going to push. Figure out what it is designed for before you fab a single part.
PSI, once you know what the supercharger flows, is dependent on compression ratio more than anything else. A low compression ratio usually means you can run more boost. Higher octane gas also allows to run a higher boost pressure. The reason why is knock. You will get knock, among other things, if you run too much moost. Higher octanes usually allow higher boost, but only to a certain point.
Remember, PSI = pounds per square inch. It is a pressure.
CFM = cubic feet per minute. It measures flow. Sometimes superchargers use pounds per minute of air or even cubic meters per minute/second.
Carbs are measured in CFM, not PSI.
Find out what it goes to and then you can figure out if it is going to work for you.

hey now anything is possible. like those guys who squeeze big blocks in 'kota's.
Yes you are correct it is from a pontiac, they said it will produce 7 pounds of boost. I understand what you are saying about psi, and cfm I think. So you are pretty sure this won't make any change on my 5.9, is what you are saying.
That supercharger is designed to fill a 3.8 liter with air, not a 5.9 liter. It would be better to try and adapt a small block Chevy supercharger to a 360.
It is the same thing as putting a 4 cylinder's turbo on a V-6. It won't work.
Not to knock you, but if you don't know what you are doing, don't try to put it on your truck. It will save you the trouble. Don't go boosting without doing the research. You can destroy your motor. Trust me.
Engines need a volume of air. CFM measures the flow of volume. Volume is the amount of air you can fit in a certain space.
That supercharger will give you minimal gains, if any. It may end up restricting you.

You not knocking me, I have been asking questions the whole time trying to figure it out if it would work or not. I will us it on something, and will continue to try and find something to boost the truck with.
