Default '01 Dak 4.7L 4x4

I changed my oil over the weekend and noticed a new leak. It is coming from my passenger side front drive train - where the axle connects to the front transfer case. I tasted the leak and it was trans fluid but I can't tell where the leak is actually coming from it seems to just be all over the axle.

Has anyone had to replace the front transfer case, axles of their Dak? I'm no pro techie but I'm all about doing it yourself - any tips?

I think that the problem you are having is the same as what I have. I believe that you are talking about the front "differential" and there is a leak at the axle shaft seal. I am working on it right now, I have the shaft ready to pull however this is sort of easier said then done. From what I have read on the internet instructions on how to sort this out are not really clear. I don't want to dissassemble the shaft to pull it so have taken the wheel nut off and removed the washer, dissassembled the upper balljoint and the shaft came out now I have to remove the shaft from the diff. I drained the diff as seemed just as good a time as any to make sure that the hypoid was good to go. So that is where I am so far I will keep you updated.
