Cheap Tachometer?
I learned to drive on my fathers 96 F-150 300ci straight 6 and no tach, but I know what you mean if its a manual it should have a tach. I think Ford was doing it a$$ backwards because Iv seen more autos with a tach and manuals with out a tach in that generation of F-150.
I also learned to drive a stick without a tach. And i learned on a 95 Ford Escort Wagon. F*ckin turds... I hated that car. Once I really started geting teh hang of it, I swear every other day i was boucing that thing off the rev limiter. Little 1.9L 4cyl with like 50 horses to wheels...
The sun pro tach is decent enough, but don't forget, you will probably have to get an adapter to find the tach signal going to your PCM.

yeah the 4 bangers only came in RC, 5 Speed and RWD.
also, i don't NEED a tach to drive a manual or automatic (obviously) but i like to have one just so i can keep an eye on things if that makes sense i'm the kinda guy that has to know whats going on when i'm driving...
