Default Brake Issue

Pretty sure something is wrong here...When i hit my brakes in a hurry or emergency, the abs kicks in and pulses the brakes as it should but occasionally in a hard stop, like the one caused by the jerk who cut me off this morning, the abs seems to let go of the brakes but not re-engage for about 4-6 seconds.

It's a horrible feeling to lose brake control like that. I used to have a GMC so im used to the grinding/whirring sound when ABS kicks in and im so happy the dodge's aren't like that but the whole let go for a long period of time scares the crap outta me. Anyone know what could be causing this? All of my brake lines are fine, fluid's good. Been putting off asking this question to see if it was a one time thing but it's getting more common on quick stops.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Feel free to let me know if im just retarded and its something easy.

look into the ABS components. I dont know too much about ABS (plus mine only has rear ABS) but i know if it was doing this to me, i would just unplug the unit and be gone with it. it might throw a code, or turn the ABS light on, but electrical tape covers that up just fine. but if you wanna fix it, somewhere in the ABS unit under the hood lies the problem your experiencing.

ABS motor pack and Module may be causing the issue. Or an ABS sensor may be on it's way out. Is your ABS light on? If you have a scanner check to see if there are any pending codes on the ABS. If you don't have a scanner, Advance has them, but they usually only read CEL's. You may have to go to the dealer to see if there are any pending codes.
