I am having problems with my transfer case leaking oil and making lots of noice. the whole case is wet but don't see any cracks or defined points of leakage. When I refill the case it only takes a few onces of oil. After a fresh refill the noices stops but then will start again first as i slow down for a stop or corner then more consistant. You can hear the chain rumbling. It takes about 20 miles to a refill before noice starts. Can these be rebuilt? Could it just be seals and end bearings?

This transfer case is a replacement for one that got busted when i dropped the truck in a mud hole an high centered it. had to drag it out about 20 yards before we could build enough road to drive it out.
