Default steering wheel shaking

what would cause your steering wheel to shave violently while accelerating? the whole steering column will shake. its my old 99 dak 4x4.. it seems like when ever you leave from a stop, the steering column will start to shake while accelerating and it will stop as soon as you let off the gas. you can not feel it any where else but the steering column.... what the hell would cause that? I am completly stumped on this...

Thats weird. If it were happening all the time obviously you would think your tires are off balance or something but only under acceleration is weird...

hmm maybe check ur drive shaft bolts/ u joints/ cv shafts. Happened on my 85 toyota pickup. 2 drive shaft bolts wiggled loose and the shaft started shaking violently through the steering column. just a guess. Like bpark, thats weird...

start with looking at the obvious... lose or worn parts involving the steering and suspension system on the front end. +2 on the half shafts

im not trying to make you look stupid here or anything, but start with making sure the front tires are tighted down properly, and also check the ball joints
