V6 Loss of Power
Well, took the Truck to a local shop. No error codes, no visable problems. I did have a Rear Brake Cylinder that was leaking though, it's been repaired. Otherwise, i get about 250 miles from Full tank to Gas light. The transmission fluid is a mystery, i bought it with 82k on it. So i have no idea if it's been changed in the past, and i've been reading that a flush and refill could actually create more problems than helping with as many miles as i've got. (98,000k)
so your never going to change the tranny fluid at all? Which is worse? Not changing it and then having to spend 3000 for a new one, or changing it and more then likley getting more life out of it and saving 3000 dollars. Mine was BLACK and Filter was BLACK at 90k bought the truck with 70k and last owners never had it chaged i did it when i worked at NTB and everything worked fine. Use Mopar ATF +4 and a Mopar Gasket and Filter from the Dealership its about 14$ for the gasket and filter, and the fluid is the most expensive... you will need about 14-16 qts to flush out the TC and VB.
Even if you don't flush the trans, I would at least change the filter and the fluid that was in the pan.
Believe me, changing a transmission in one of these is no small job.

and the best part of all is when i thought i fixed it and put it back together it still leaked and then i said F it and spent 3k to get a performance tranny put in it. 46re with stage 2 shift kit and full kelvar parts and overhaul the whole thing, and a 2800stall OD off and it works as a 727 with no 3rd lockup... its amazing now... but now im broke 3k was my heads, cam , and blower down the drain... but i would have had to have the tranny rebuilt anyway someday..

Welcome to the forum, if you plan on doing a lot of work yourself, I would suggest getting a good shop manual so you have a better understanding of how to do things.
Cheers.
