Default 2003 4.7L Tuneup

What all is involved in doing a tuneup on this 4.7? There is no cap, rotor or wires, so is it simply plugs and air filter? The plugs look like a pain to change. I am going to seafoam it as well.
I have to do something as I am getting about 11mpg city/hwy taking it easy!

Thats pretty much all you can do. Change oil if its near that time. My dad and I did the plugs on my moms 04 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 and it was a major pain. It sure is nice on my truck 5 min to get all the plugs out.

ya plugs and an air filter is really all you can do. My 4.7 gets 15-16 city and 21-22 hwy miles, but the plugs are not that bad to change it only takes about 20 mins to do them all.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like it can be a real pain to change the plugs... any tips to make this easier? Also, what plugs are the best for it? Champion copper plus RC12MCC4 or NGK G-Power ZFR6FGP? Champtions are 1/3 the price! From what I've read on the forums the platinums are not reccommended.

yeah its really not that bad you just gotta take off the air box and then unbolt the coil packs and the one that has the lines over it you just gotta pull them apart to get the socket in there

Also make sure after pull the coil overs you blow out around the plugs before you pull them, then put a touch of dielectric on each coil over when reinstalling. I get 11-13 in the winter & 15-16 summer, but my truck is also a 4X4 Quadcab so mileage is gonna suck no matter.

I am about to put in a shift kit, going true dual exhaust & might re-gear, I'll let everybody know how it affects mileage at each step. Oh yeah I run with OD off most of the time and that seemed to give me a mile or two more.

13 is really all you get? I get around 20 on the highway. I have a manual but you should still be able to get up to 18 or so.
