Question Distributor Indexing???

Hey.

I have a 2003 Dakota 3.9L.

I want to verify the Indexing On my distributor but I am not sure of the procedure.

Does anyone know where I can find this info??

More info please, what do you mean by Index?

If your talking about TIMING then all you have to do is hook a obdII scanner, undo the lock down nut and slightly turn the distributor and get it as close to 0-1 as possible, but not in the "-" area.

By Indexing I mean Proper Posistioning.

also EFI Has No timing advancement unless you install MSD Ignition or similer.

the Distributor controls Fuel Syncronization To the ignition.

The Ignition Timing retard/advance is computer controled.

Yeah i think i referded to it as fuel timing adjustment, but anyways, on an OBDII Scanner i was able to adjust it.. on my truck was set at +4 and was able to bring it down to 0-1 ran better at this point...

here is a link to do what your asking, i found it on another forum..
