Default Fluid Level

I started reading this article and it occurred to me that when I purchased my 2003 Dakota, that I got the tow package with it. The tow package included a frame bolted tow hitch, rear axle crossbar and an additional transmission cooler. The additional cooler means that it requires additional transmission fluid

While I don't have to remind Dodge service service personnel about it when they service my transmission as they have access to my truck's information, I do if I take it anywhere else to have the transmission serviced, in order to ensure that they put the additional fluid in. You might want to take a look and see if there is a smaller secondary radiator on your truck. That might be part of the issue. Then follow the procedure that most of the people responding have recommended.
