taking out front seats?
Ok, ever since i cleaned my truck up for that photo shoot, my OCD disorder has really gone into overdrive. Im wanting to take the seats out so i can vacuum as much dirt, crumbs... etc out of my truck. I know alot of stuff goes down in between the seats and I want it clean. So, my question is... how do you take the seats out? I dont have power seats or anything, and I havent really looked at it to tell you the truth. are they just bolted to the floor? if so, that would be easy.... I know i could just look for myself but i know others on here have changed seats so you guys can just tell me.
Looks like your truck is an SLT, and if it has the bucket seats with the center console in between the seats then it should be a matter of removing the 4 bolts that hold the seats in and unplug the seat belt sensor connectors and remove the seats.
If you have the 60/40 split seats with the fold-down console that rests in the middle of the seat cushion, it is more difficult. The 2 seats and the center seat section are all bolted together. You still have to remove all the bolts holding in the seats but you also need to unbolt the seat belt anchors and the bolts holding the center seat section in place. It's sort of like handling a giant wet noodle. The whole thing comes out of the truck as one unit and you really need 2 people to remove and reinstall it.
Either way just be careful not to scratch your door panels or door sills, etc as you take the seats out. Maybe you could find some kind of attachment to fit your vacuum cleaner to reach down between and under the seats. That might make it easier.

i have the 2 buckets so it sounds pretty easty. i can sort of get down between the seats, but you can never really get everything by just doing it that way. besides, i wanted to take them out and clean up the seats themselves, maybe even shampoo them and the carpet while i'm at it.
buckets are easy, 4 bolts for each seat, 2 on front they are smaller 13-14mm maybe? and 2 on the rear 16-17mm maybe, you will probably need a 1/2 drive and a cheater bar if you never taken them out before. Sometimes the bolts can be a bitch.
Pop those 4 bolts out and just pull the seat out... my seat belts dont have sensor. Takes about 5 min to take both seats out...

Yep that's the best way to do it, pull both seats out so you can really get both the seats and the carpet clean. You can scrub the sides of the center console then too. I just did that exact same thing on my girlfriend's Honda. It was pretty nasty and took a couple of hours to get everything clean, but you can't really expect chicks to pay attention to that kind of thing..
