My friend has a 97 dakota 4x2 v6 with an atomatic trans that is slowly but surely going out. He want sto replace it with a manual. I've never done this in a dakota before. What parts do i need and how difficult is it?

 

I think the 5 speed manual came as an option for the v6, its the nv600 I THINK.. not positive maybe someone else can chime in, but as far as i know, ATLEAST in my truck, when you pull up the carpet and center console, the cab is already cut for a manual, all you have to do is punch it out and find a console out of a manual dak, and the tranny should bolt right up, just find a 5speed v6 97-04 dak and look at how its setup.

Should be easy, but easy things never are really easy....
