thats a pretty good deal. you could probably find an engine for around 5/600 and have the whole thing done for around 1k.

I'm happy with the 4.7 in my 04, but wasn't to happy with the tranny, and the way it shifted. There is a speed shop about an hour from me that does engine and tranny modifications called Brougher's. I called them, and he said to bring it in, and he'd "tweek" the tranny. He told me not to waste the money doing anything to it. Being it is electronic, he could program the shift points. He used a lap top and did so until I was happy. When you pull out now, it will keep on pulling until you very slightly let off the gas. Also, if your kinda getting on it, it will shift into second , and the truck pulls like crazy. I'm real happy I had that done. Feels like an old day shift kit was installed, and only cost $50. The Tech said the newer tranny's will take a beating if you keep clean fluid and filters in them.
