I bought a dakota a few months back and put a trailer hitch and got it wired. I have been towing a trailer and it seems just about everytime a tow a trailer i blow a fuse to the transmssion. I have a electrical transfer case and when i swith to 4wd it seems to blow and if i plug in the trailer lights before the truck is started it seems to blow. I know the it is not the trailer because it does the samething when i use my other trailer. Any one have any ideas?

 

who installed the wiring, im thinking somebody screwed up the wiring and that is the issue, check to make sure that the plug is wired up correctly

 

yeah i checked the wiring and it looks fine. the guy just went right to the drivers brake light. everything is wired correctly
