99 Dakota won't start
Hello, I have a 1999 Dakota with a 5.2L v8 with automatic. My problem is the truck died at a stop light and wouldn't start. Earlier that day it died on me twice at low rpms and I didn't think much of it. I checked for gas pressure and to make sure the pump comes on when I turn on the key, and it does. So I checked for fire at the coil and I have it there. I checked for fire at the plugs and I don't have it there. I then replaced the cap, rotor, pick up coil, and crankshaft position sensor. I swapped relays out in the PDC and checked all the fuses. I checked the wires under the PDC and didn't see any problems. I was thinking about trying a new ECU. What does everyone else think?
I finally figured it out. I had weak spark to the distributor. I checked my spark again from the coil and noticed it was yellow colored. I changed the coil and replaced the wires and it fired right up.
