Default Swaping out my V6 3.9 auto to a 5 speed.

Hey i have a 1998 dodge dakota sport 3.9 automatic. Ive been looking into swapping it into a 5 speed manuel. i havent found any good web sites to get the specs off of so i came here to ask. What transfercase will replace mine with?, also what transmission should i replace mine with, nv600? also i was told the v6 auto had a punch out under the carpet instead of cutting my own hole for the stick is this true?

If anyone can point me in the right direction please do so. websites, instructions, personal storys ect..

Thanks, Jason

I believe you will be looking for either an NV3500 or an AS-82.

Yup, you're going to have to double check which one it is, because I know they switched over at one point in time... Now that I think about it, in 2000 they put the NV3500 in (same one I have in my truck) but in 97 the 3.9 came with the AS 82... basically you could probably get away with either of those...
