Default How do i know when I have enough r134a

I bought a can of R134a and recharged my AC today. The can i bought came with a pump, but the pump did not have a pressure gauge telling me when it was full. I have heard that if you put too much in it will not work as well. How do I know that it is full?

Thanks!

yea, dont oversharge the system, the only way i really know how to make sure its at the right amount is with a set of manifold gauges, and checking the pressures. or a full recovery station that pulls everything out and then you tell how much to put it and it does all the hard work for you.

If you are absolutely 100% sure that the system is functioning properly then you can get close by looking at the pressures, however with todays smaller systems it is even more critical to have the proper amount in and the only way to do that is by having the system evacuated and then refilled with something that is capable of weighing the amount of refrigerant added.
