I have bought a 97 Dakota Sport Reg Cab 5.2 (318CID to us old farts). I love the size of the truck, am not really pleased with the fuel use but I am working on that (a scan-gauge tool is in use, rather like bio feedback, and I am bringing the mileage up a little.)

I also have an (92) 88 Olds, (84) BMW 325e, (71) MGBGT, (73) MGB, (04) Taurus, & an (93) SAAB900S. two of these are not currently running, but stay tuned. things (and my arthritis pains) change.<G>

Many questions because as yet I do not have a decent service manual (and $100 for a "factory" manual is out of my pay grade). I bought some things on ebay and they may work ok.

Anyone here have hands on experience with Chilton's (?) All-trade database?

I'm in Calif and have to pass smog. it won't right now. I swapped pluigs today (the old plugs were for a 96, a loty sorthere, and were worn quite a bit. runs muh niocer,. But I have to also replace the dist cap and rotor and wires and O2 sensor.

which bring the question...how many O2 sensors should the truck have. it is a fedeeral spec vehicle. I only see one, after the car. stands to reason there's 1-2? before the cat?/???
