Wanted to let everyone know
A couple weeks ago I did the rear end oil change, and found fragments from the c clips again. They rebuilt the rear end at 30,000 miles for broken c-clips, but used the same garbage. I had the truck towed to the garage, and they checked it out. The first time, they had a loaner waiting in an hour, and took it right in. Cost me a hundred bucks. This time I had the option of paying for the repair myself while they submitted the bill to Chrysler and got approval, or had them flush the rear end out, and wait until Chrysler approved. I chose the latter. Got a call Friday, and Chrysler will not fix it under warranty. I bought a Certified Dakota with the 8 year 80,000 mile power train warranty. I have 20,000 miles or until 2012 left. The dealer told me dealers are getting stiffed on this warranty repair work, so they won't do it until it is approved, so if you bought a certified vehicle, your warranty is probably no good since Chrysler went belly up. Anyone know of any class action lawsuits yet for this ? I guess I'll start reading the threads to see what after market LSD units you guys are using as replacements for OEM junk. If I have to pay, I'm getting something that won't fall apart in 30,000 miles.
