Default Shocks for a 97

I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I replaced my front shocks with some, what I consider, very low end Gabriels due to funds. What I found is that the Gabriels are about two times smaller in diameter and the bushing is about a 1/2 inch narrower in bolt length than what I had. I also took a look at Monroes and found the same dimensions. These are what I am finding at auto parts stores.

I have a 97 Dakota V8 5.2L 4x4 sport w/ a towing package. Being as smart as I am I tossed the old shocks, on trash day, before finding out what brand they were. My rears are cofap which I don't believe are made for Dodge any longer.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good replacement that will have the same dimensions as my old ones. I already lost a bushing bolt on the freeway due to using washers to compensate. I have to tighten these everyday. This weekend I will use some Locktite if I can't get them replaced tomorrow.

My ride is terrible, please help...

Try contacting rough country, their shocks are basically generic Rancho's made at the Gabriel factory and they are nice and beefy.
