stuck hood on 97 dakota

Default stuck hood on 97 dakota

anyone have any insight into getting a hood open on a 97 dakota. already tried disassembling the lever and pulling the cable but it still wont budge.
any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks.

see if you can get to the cable by going up under the bumper. Probably gonna need a long pair of pliers or pry bar or something. Don't know if this will work or even be possible, but worth a shot.

Did you try pulling the lever in the grill or jiggling it at all? Maybe it's just stuck?

think i can reach the cable through the grill, will give it a try. i think it's something to do with the linkage though. maybe some wd40 sprayed through the grill? i don't know. i'm about to try the cutting torch method,lol. thanks.

What happens when you pull the lever in side the cab?

absolutely nothing. i thought the cable might be stretched, so i disconnected the lever and pulled on the cable as far as it would come and zero, zip, nada.

Sounds to me like the lock might be frozen. How long has it been since you tried opening the hood?
