and met some dude who liked my truck and started bragging about his old black r/t that was supercharger with red emblems and his 727 tranny and hes sad he sold it. well turns out its was MY old black r/t
and i found out a couple things I never knew and make me very sad its gone.
Its was cammed and bored.30 over.
the guy still has the gibson heads and the 1.5 rockers. hes say they should be smaller if im going to supercharge it is that true?

The 1.5s just create less lift, you want less overlap on a blown truck (less lope) tighter cam.
Heads you want to P&P to get the best velocity out of them and less restrictions since its forced, you want it to flow easy, the stock heads are very rough and not very flow efficient for a blower, for N/A they are fine.
i also think you want lower compression when running a blower, but i might be wrong i always get it mixed up, its either more or less.. lol..
also the stock lifters on our 5.9s are 1.6s not 1.5s, upgrades for us are 1.7s..
the old style LA motors used 1.5s, the magnums used 1.6s.

Lift is just how far the valves open, the more lift = more hp, you just don't what much overlap lope in the cam, as in ex 248/240 the closer the intake and exhaust numbers are the less lope, the farther away the more lope.

if you're going to go with a blower ive always heard that just keeping the 1.6 rockers but upgrading to a roller tip rocker is the best way to go, that way you have more options when it comes to choice of cams. Most blower cams will create more lift than stock, but less than an agressive N/A cam. this is so you dont blow your valvetrain to pieces under 10 pounds of boost. I could be wrong on all of that so dont quote me, but I do know I've never heard of anyone putting in 1.5 rockers on a magnum motor, blown or not.
I believe you're correct, most of my knowledge regarding boost comes from inline 4's but almost all of the boosted builds I've seen go with lower compression.

If you do find one expect to pay atleast 400+ since they are backroder like a ****. Hell from what i know, i think they have been on backorder for like 2 years now.. so when somone gets one, they turn around and sell it for almost 20-40% more then what its worth.
A few other people offer intake manifolds simular to the m-1 for cheaper, but i dont think they fit correclty 100% and need some griding in places.
